How to use it

1

Set the length

Pick a length between 8 and 64 characters; longer is stronger.

2

Choose character sets

Include lowercase, uppercase, digits and symbols, and exclude ambiguous characters.

3

Copy the password

Generate one or several passwords, then copy the one you need.

Why use this tool

Secure randomness

Uses crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling, not Math.random.

Strength and entropy

See the estimated entropy in bits and a strength label for the current settings.

Never leaves the browser

Passwords are generated locally and never stored or transmitted.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a password be?
Use at least 16 characters for important accounts, and prefer a unique password for every site. Length matters more than complexity.
What does entropy mean?
Entropy measures how many guesses an attacker needs. It is length multiplied by the log base 2 of the alphabet size, measured in bits.
Why exclude ambiguous characters?
Characters like I, l, 1, O and 0 look similar in many fonts. Removing them reduces typing mistakes, at a small cost in entropy.
Are these passwords stored anywhere?
No. They are generated in your browser and disappear when you close the page. Save them in a password manager.
Can I use symbols like spaces?
This generator uses a common symbol set without spaces so the password works in most forms. A password manager handles any character you choose.
