v4 is random; v7 is time-ordered and better for database indexes.

How to use it

1

Choose a version

Use v4 for random identifiers or v7 for time-sortable ones.

2

Set the count

Generate between 1 and 100 UUIDs at once.

3

Copy or download

Copy the whole list or save it as a text file.

Why use this tool

Cryptographically random

v4 uses the browser secure random generator, not Math.random.

Time-ordered v7

v7 starts with a millisecond timestamp, so IDs sort by creation time.

Bulk generation

Create up to 100 identifiers in one click and export them.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between v4 and v7?
v4 is fully random. v7 embeds a 48-bit timestamp followed by random bits, which makes it sortable by creation time.
Are these UUIDs unique?
The random space is large enough that collisions are practically impossible, but no generator can guarantee absolute uniqueness.
Can I use them as database keys?
Yes. Prefer v7 for B-tree indexes because time-ordered values reduce page splits.
Does the tool send anything to a server?
No. UUIDs are generated in your browser with crypto.getRandomValues or crypto.randomUUID.
Are uppercase UUIDs valid?
Yes. UUIDs are case-insensitive, and this tool lets you switch between lower and upper case.
