Frequently asked questions
Do I need an .ico file?
Modern browsers accept PNG favicons declared in the HTML. This set covers current desktop and mobile browsers; add an ICO only for legacy systems.
What image should I use?
A square PNG or SVG with a simple mark works best. If the image is not square, drag the crop box to choose the icon area before downloading.
Where do I put the files?
Upload them to the root of your site so the paths in the snippet, such as /favicon-32x32.png, resolve correctly.
Is transparency supported?
Yes. Keep the background transparent, or choose a fill color if you want a solid tile.
Are images uploaded?
